C54400, ASTM B139 동합금은 인청동입니다.
구리에 Phosphor (P) 를 0.05~0.5% 수준을

합금 하면, 강도와 경도가 높아지며
탄성과 내마모성 (wear resistance)이 좋아집니다.

C54400 에는 Lead (Pb) nominal 3.5% 합금 됐으며
Pb는 동합금에 쾌삭 성능을 부여해, 절삭성을 높여줍니다.

C54400 동합금은 free-cutting phosphor bronze (쾌삭 인청동)으로
잘 잘리면서, 강도와 내마모성을 가지는 금속입니다.

금속에 Pb를 합금 하면, 금속 조직 결정 입계에 Pb가
석출 돼 (금속 조직 내 따로 놀고 있어), 절단면을

깔끔하게 해주는 역할을 합니다.
Pb 합금은 재료의 강도, 인성, 연성에

영향을 주지 않으면서 절삭성을 향상 시키지만,
인체에 문제를 발생 시키는 원소입니다.

Bearing (sleeve and thrust), Bushing, Gears, Pinions,
screw machine parts, shafts, bolt and nut 로 사용됩니다.

ASTM B139 C54400 동합금은 SAE J461, SAE J463
MIL-B-13501, Phosphor Bronze B-B 재질과 대응됩니다.
