S45C의 숫자 “45”의 Nominal Carbon
0.45%를 의미하는 것과 같습니다.

S70CM 에서, 나타나는 뒤의 “M”은
みがき (미가끼) 라는 일본어 발음 첫 글자 영문 표기입니다.

みがき (미가끼) 는 표면이 깔끔합니다.
일반적인 강판의 표면이 검은 것과 비교해

냉간 압연 방법으로 Roll에 의해,
표면 다듬질한 강판을 말합니다.

S70C는 JIS G 3311 에 규정이 있고
Equivalent Steel Grade인

AISI/SAE 1070–UNS No. G10700 과
비교 가능한, Killed Steel을 원소재로 한 강종입니다.

AISI에서는 Carbon Steel 을, 탄소량에 따라
Group1~4 까지를 분류하면서

Group4는 탄소량 0.55%~1.00% 까지를
High Carbon Steel 로 묶어서 규정하고 있습니다.

저탄소강 보다 높은 강도가 필요하거나
내마모성이 요구되는 경우 선택 사용하는 강종입니다.

주로 사용되는 용도로는 Washer, Woodworking hand saw,
Business machine parts, Spring 으로 사용되는 강종입니다.

AISI 1060 Grade 인장강도 775 MPa min ….. Normalized
AISI 1080 Grade 인장강도 1010 MPa min …. Normalized와

비교하면 그 중간 정도의
인장 강도를 가지는 강종입니다.

오스테나이트화 후 공기 중에서 냉각하는 열처리로
노말라이징 열처리의 목적은 강재 생산 앞 공정에서 받은 응력 (Stress)를 풀어주고
결정립을 미세화, 표준화 시켜, 기계적 성질을 향상 시키는 열처리를 말합니다.

※ Killed Steel (킬드강, 탈산강)

killed steel is further classified according to grain size or deoxidizer.

페로실리콘이나, 알루미늄 등으로 충분히 탈산한 강철로,
용탕이 응고 진행 중에 일산화탄소를 발생 시키지 않고,
조용히 응고해, 비교적 균질하고, 편석이 적고, 기포도 없지만
응고된 강괴 윗부분 중심으로부터, 수축공이 생겨, 회수율이
좋지 못한 단점이 있고, 결정 입도, 탈산제에 따라 세부적으로 더 분류됩니다.
