항복강도 140 ksi × 6.9 ≒ 960 MPa 이상의 강도는
고탄소 합금강재로도 가능하지만, 용접성을 고려한 저탄소

강재이면서 (0.12~0.18% 수준), 저합금강재로 140 ksi (960 MPa) 이상을
실현한 강재를 고항복점 강판이라고 부르고, 성형성 (formability),

용접성 (weldability), 인성 (toughness) 가진 강판을 140 ksi Steel Plate 라고 부릅니다.
예를 들어 EN 960QL, ArcelorMittal LQ-140 강판을 말합니다.

이와 같은 고항복점 강판은 특장 차량, haul trailers, crane booms, truck frames,
logging and construction equipment 용도로 사용됩니다.

140 ksi, 960 MPa 이상의 높은 항복강도와 인장강도 강재의 생산에는
Quenching Tempering 열처리 생산 방법이 필수이고

미량 합금만으로도 강도를 높이는 Boron (B : 붕소)와
강재 결정 조직을 미세화 시키는 Niobium (Nb : 니오븀)등의 원소가 합금 됩니다.

※ Grain (결정립 : 結晶粒)

has a high tensile strength and a high toughness.

고장력강으로서의 성질을 가지게 한 강재.

※ Carbon Steel (탄소강 : 炭素鋼) – AISI Definition
Generally speaking carbon steels contain up to 2% total alloying
elements, and can be subdivided into as following categories
Low-carbon steels, which contain up to 0.30% C
Medium-carbon steels, which contain 0.30% to 0.60% C
