얼핏 보면 H-BEAM 과 같아 보입니다.
하지만 자세히 보면 다릅니다.

H-BEAM 의 짝퉁이 아닙니다.
I-BEAM 이라는 이름을 가진 압연 강재 형강 입니다.

H-BEAM 과 마찬가지로
웨브가 있고 플랜지가 있습니다.

Web는 I-BEAM의 영어 알파벳 ” I ” 에
해당되는 기둥 부분을 말하고

Flange는 영어 알파벳 ” I ” 에 연결된
2개 부분을 말하며, 경사지게 나타납니다….Taper

I-BEAM 에서는 Flange가 경사지게 나타나지만
H-BEAM에서는 수평으로 나타나는 차이가 있습니다…. Parallel

수요량은 H-BEAM에 밀려 현저히 줄어들었으며
교량, 차량, 광산(광지보용)용을 일부 사용됩니다.

※ Rolled steel products (압연강재)
Steel products to be formed to bars, wires rods, sections,
steel plates, steel strip in coil, flat-bar and so on by rolling mill
Normally those further not hot rolled by the manufacturer
압연기로 봉강, 선재, 형강, 강판, 강대, 평강 등의 모양으로 성형 가공된 강재.

※ I-BEAM
Cross-section whose shape resembles the letter I
In ISO 6929, more detailed classification of I sections and H sections,
flanges with width equal to or less than 0.66 times the nominal height
of the section and less than 300 mm are called sections.

※ Sections
Steel products formed to the cross-sectional shape of angles,
grooves, I-sections, H-sections, and so on.
ISO 6829 specified angles as L sections,
and grooves as U sections
