E4340 NT 강재는 항공기강으로, NT 열처리에 의해 심경화 (deep hardening)
가능하고, 항복강도 217 ksi (1500 MPa) 이상의 높은 초고강도 강재로

항공기의 landing gear, shafts, piston rods for engines, fasteners 용도로
쓰이는 중탄소 저합금 강재로, 좋은 연성, 인성, 내피로성, 크리프 저항성 강재입니다.

E4340 NT 강재는, Normalizing 1650℉ (899℃),
Austenitize 1550℉ (818℃),

Tempering 900℉ (482℃) 조건에서 nominal 항복강도
240 ksi (1656 MPa) 수준의 초고강도가 가능합니다.

한쪽 끝 경화능 (E4340H N&T) 열처리시에 (jominy hardness test) 에는
58 HRC 수준의 높은 경도이지만, 단면 감소율 (RA) 30~45% 수준입니다.

※ Heat Analysis = Cast analysis = Ladle analysis = 용강분석치 = 溶鋼分析値
Analytical results obtained in analysis for a sample taken into the process,
where the liquid steel is teemed into a mould from a ladle and solidified.
It indicates chemical components that represent the liquid steel and
the chemical components of steel products are generally shown as results
by cast analysis or ladle analysis.

일반적으로 용강이 래들에서 주형으로 주입 되어 응고 할 때 까지의
과정에서 채취 된 분석시료에 대하여 시행한 분석치.
용강의 평균 화학 성분을 나타내며, 강재의 화학 성분은
용강 분석치 (또는 래들)분석치로서 나타냅니다.

※ Aircraft Quality Steel (AQ Steel : 항공기강 : 航空機鋼)
AQ Steel is the most commonly specified quality for general aerospace applications.
It is defined in SAE specification AMS 2301 (자분탐상시험 : magnetic particle testing
: 磁粉探傷試驗), which outlines the procedure for determiningcompliance with
cleanliness requirements by the magnetic particle inspection method.

※ Reduction of area(RA : 斷面收縮率 : 단면 수축율)
Percentage of the difference between the minimum sectional area after fracture and
the original sectional area of test piece to the original sectional area.
In KS and JIS, it is required only for test pieces with circular section.
시험편 파단 후의 최소 단면적과 그 원단면적의 차를, 원단면적에 대한 백분율로 나타낸 것.
KS, JIS에서는 원형단면의 시험편에서 비율을 구한다.
