A29-4140 강재는 열간 압연 합금강 규정 83 종류 중 하나 입니다.
크롬과 몰리브덴 합금으로, 높은 경화성 특징인 재질입니다.

A29-4140 재료를 Cold Finish (CF : 냉간 마무리)하면 냉간 합금강
ASTM A108 규정이 적용 되, A29/A108 Dual Specification 재질이 됩니다.

Cold Finish (CF)는 황삭 (rough turned)를 포함해, 냉간 인발, 연마 등의
방법으로 표면에 스케일, 결함을 없애고, ASTM A108 의 적용을 받습니다.

A29-4140 강재 규정은 화학 원소 규정만 있고, 기계적 성질이 없습니다.
이는 열처리 온도, 시간, 냉각 수단에 따라 다양한 기계적 성질이

가능한 재질이기 때문이며, 이는 KS, JIS의 Cr-Mo 합금강 등에서도
같은 이유로 기계적 성질이 나타나지 않으며, A29-4140 강재를

Quenching and Tempering 열처리 하면 1000 MPa 수준의 인장강도가 가능합니다.
QT 뿐 아니라, 화염 경화 등의 표면 경화강으로 쓸 수 있고, 유도 경화시

표면 경도 HRC 58 수준의 높은 경도가 가능해, 내마모성을 높여 사용도 합니다.
용도에 따라 Annealed, Normalizing 등, 다양한 열처리 방법이 가능합니다.

※ Cold Finish (냉간 마무리)
The term “Cold Finish” is an umbrella definition for any metal
that has had some sort of surface treatment.
EX) Cold drawn is cold finish surface.
Centerless Ground, Smooth Turned, and Rough Turned — These are all “Cold Finish”
