E295 강재는 열간 압연 탄소강 강재로 주로 환봉입니다.
앵글, 찬넬, 형강으로는 생산이 없습니다.

엔지니어링용으로 탄소량 제한도 없고, 불순물 원소 P, S 만 제한합니다.
E295 강재는 항복강도 295 MPa minimum 으로, JIS SS400 보다는 높습니다.

경우에 따라 E295 강재를 냉간 처리하면 재질 기호가 E295GC 재질이 됩니다.
S275JR, S355JR 강재의 구조용 (structural)는 충격 시험이 있지만

E295 강재의 경우는 CVN 충격 시험도 없고, 연신율 값도 없습니다.
따라서 강재의 스펙, 강도가 높은 S355JR 급 이상의 사용도 가능합니다.

※ Charpy V-Notch Impact Test (CVN : 샤르피 충격 시험 : 衝擊試驗)
Test to measure the absorbed energy, impact value, percentage
of brittle/ductile fracture, transition temperature, etc. with using
charpy impact testing machine in which test piece is supported by
two supports distant by 40mm so that the notch meets the middle
between supports and is broken by striking with one blow of
pendulum to the face opposite the notch.

샤르피 충격 시험기를 사용하여 시험편을 40 mm 간격이 있는 두 개의
지지대에 올려 놓고, 또한 노치부를 지지대 사이의 중앙에 놓고
노치부의 뒷면을 해머로 1회만 충격을 주어, 시험편을 파단 시키고
흡수 에너지, 충격치, 파면율, 천이 온도 등을 측정하는 시험.

※ Phosphorus (P : 燐)
The presence of this element in steel is usually regarded as an
undesirable impurity due to its embrittling effect. In most steels
it is limited to a maximum of 0.050%.

인 (燐)은 금속에 취성 성질을 주는 불순 원소로 취급되고
대부분의 강 (鋼)에서는 최대 0.050% 까지로 제한합니다.
