ASTM A638 규정은 철을 기본으로 하고, 니켈, 크롬, 몰리브덴 등의
원소를 합금한 고온에서 사용하는 초합금 재료 3가지가 있는 규정입니다.

A638 Grade 660 합금은 Solution + Aged 열처리 하는 경우
상온에서도 높은 강도이지만, 650℃ 응력 시험 조건이 있는 재료입니다.

A638 Grade 660 Type 1 과 A638 Grade 660 Type 2 의 구분은
Solution Treatment 온도에 따라 구분되어 집니다.

A638 Grade 660 Type 1 : Solution 1650±25℉/hold 2h min./oil or water quench
Precipitation hardening treatment 1300~1400℉/hold 16h/air or furnace cool.

A638 Grade 660 Type 2 : Solution 1800±25℉/hold 2h min./oil or water quench
Precipitation hardening treatment 1300~1400℉/hold 16h/air or furnace cool.

A638 Grade 660 Type 2 합금은 고온용 재료로 많이 쓰이는 내산화성 특징으로
고열 고응력이 작용하는 항공기와 산업용 가스 터빈, 파스너, 정유 산업에 쓰입니다.

A638-660 Type2 (660B) 재질은 오스테나이트계 재료로, 비교적 심한 가공 후에도
비자성, 800℃ 수준에서도 내산화성, 700℃ 수준에서도 강도가 높습니다.

※ Stress-Rupture Test (應力破斷試驗 : 응력 파단 시험)
A tension test performed at constant temperature, the load being
held at such a level as to cause rupture.
인장 시험으로 일정 온도에서 하중을 줘, 파괴를 일으키는 시험을 말합니다.

※ Stress (응력, 應力)
Tensile or compressive load per unit area.
Generally stress is expressed in N/㎟ or in MPa.
There are different kinds of stress, internal stress,
transformation stress, machining stress, thermal stress, etc..

단위 면적당 받는 인장 또는 압축을 의미하며, 일반적인 표현 단위로는
국제단위계 (SI : System of International units : 國際單位系) 이면서
KS, JIS, ASTM, EN 사용하는, N/㎟ 또는 MPa (Mega Pascal) 이 사용됩니다.
응력을 나타내는 조합된 언어로는 여러 종류가 있어 내부 응력 (內部),
변태 응력 (變態), 가공 응력 (加工), 열응력 (熱) 등이 있습니다.

※ Oxidation resistance (내산화성 : 耐酸化性)
A property of oxidation resistance at a high temperature.
고온에서 산화 (철의 부식)에 견디는 성질을 말합니다.
