API 5L X42 PSL1 재질은 송유관용 강관으로, offshore 용도의
구조용 (structural)으로도 쓰이는 탄소강 강관입니다.

Seamless 또는 ERW 용접 강관으로 제조 되며, 제조 방법에 따라
API X42R — As rolled, X42N — Normalizing, X42Q — QT 열처리재

API X42M — TMCP 로, 원소재의 생산 방법에 따라 다르고
이에 따른 탄소량과 미량 원소도 약간씩 차이가 있는 재질입니다.

API 5L X42 재질에서 숫자 42 는 최소 항복강도 42 ksi 로, MPa로 환산하면
290 MPa minimum 의 일반 강재 고강도강의 중간 정도급의 강도 규정 재질입니다.

API 5L X42 PSL1 에서 “PSL”은 Products Specification Level 약자로PSL1 보다
PSL2 가, 더 상위 Spec 조건이고, API 5L X42 인 경우는 대부분 PSL1 입니다.

파이프로서 강도면을 비교하면 API 5L X42 는, ASTM A53B – 최소 항복강도 240 MPa
ASTM A106B — 최소 항복강도 240 MPa 로 X42 재질이 상위 Grade 입니다.

X42 파이프는 Brinnel Harness 200 maximum 보증 조건 또는
NACE MR0175/MR0103/ISO15156-2, HRC 22 maximum 보증도 있습니다.

※ Hardness (경도 : 硬度)
Resistance to plastic deformation usually by indentation.
For steel users, it is a parameter to express different mechanical
properties of steel. It should be considered together with other
properties. For example, if two different steel grades have both
50 HRC hardness, it does not necessary mean both have the
same mechanical properties or wear resistance.

압인이나 긁힘에 의한 변형, 특히 영구적인 변형에 대한 재료의
내구성으로 강재의 기계적 성질의 지표입니다.
다른 강재가, 같은 경도 값을 가지더라도 내마모성, 기계적 성질이
다를 수 있으니, 경도와 함께 다른 기계적 성질도 참고해야 합니다.
