AMS 5621 규정 강재는 높지 않은 수준의 내열성과 내식성 스테인리스
재질 규정이고, 탄소량 0.35% 수준에 크롬 13% 합금입니다.

환봉과 와이어, 단조재 형상으로 Annealed 처리 조건이고 SAE51420 대응됩니다.
Type 420 강재는 마르텐사이트 스테인리스로 Type 410 대비 좋은 내식성에

강도와 경도가 높고, Annealed 조건이든, 열처리 조건이든 자성(磁性)을 가집니다.
AMS 5621, SS 420ESR 로 표기되면 AMS 5621 규정이면서 생산 방법을

고품질 청정강으로 만들려고, 진공용해 생산한 강재를 말하며, 진공용해는
강재 내부의 가스, 비금속 개재물을 제거해 강재의 청정성과 인성을 높인 강재를 말합니다.

AMS 5621, SS 420ESR 강재는 ASTM A473-420, S42000,
ASTM A276-420, A314-420 규격의 진공 용해 생산 제품과 비교 가능합니다.

높은 경도와 내식성을 바탕으로 항공기용 강재, 중하중용 부품, 발전소 자재로
사용되며, 칼, 다이스, 금형, 식사용 도구 (cutlery ) 로 사용됩니다.

※ Vacuum Melting (진공용해 : 眞空熔解)
Melting in a vacuum to prevent contamination from air, as well as to
remove gases already dissolved in the metal ; the solidification may
also be carried out on a vacuum or at low pressure.

진공이나 낮은 압력에서 금속을 용해하는 생산 방법으로 대기 속에
있는 산소, 불순물이 들어가지 않게 금속을 제조하는 방법으로, 의료용,
고급 금속, 특수강, 전자 산업용 금속 재료의 생산에 사용되는 방법입니다.

※ ESR (Electro Slag Remelting : 일렉트로 슬래그 재용해)
After casting, the ingot is remelted from bottom to top by electric energy,
During this process, the melted steel falls through slags, which collects
almost all of the non-metallic inclusions
A new ingot solidifies from bottom to top and there is very little segregation
from case to core.
The fatigue resistance and in particular the toughness increase.
Even through ESR increases material costs, it can still be economical due to
the increase in the tool’s performance.
Metal injection moulds and extrusion dies often need ESR steel grades.
