ASTM F899 재질은 의료 도구로 사용되는 스테인리스 중에서 외과용
재료의 원재료로 사용되는 재질만 모아 놓은 규정입니다.

그 중 F899 S41000 재질로 절단용으로는 curettes, chisels, osteotomes, reamers
비절단용으로는 clamps, clip applicators, holders punches으로 쓰입니다.

마르텐사이트로 열처리해서 높은 기계적 성질이 가능하고, Tempering 온도에 따라
다양한 기계적성질이 가능하며, F899-S41000에서는 경도 값만 나오지만

경우에 따라 A240-S41000의 항복강도와 기계적 성질도 적용되는 Dual Spec으로
Annealed 조건에서 항복강도 205 MPa, 인장강도 450 MPa minimum 재료입니다.

마르텐사이트 스테인리스는 오스테나이트와 비교해 탄소량이 높고, 크롬만 13Cr 합금한
스테인리스로 니켈 규정 1.0% max.이지만 실제는 거의 0.10% 수준의 강재입니다.

※ Tempering (뜨임 열처리)
Heat treatment applied to a ferrous product, generally after quench hardening,
or another heat treatment to bring the properties to the required level, and
consisting of heating to specific temperature (＜Ac1 )and soaking one or
more time, followed by cooling at an appropriate rate.
Tempering generally leads to a reduction in hardness
but can, in certain cases, cause an increase in hardness.

철강재를 퀜칭 경화 후, 또는 특정 수준의 성질을 얻기 위하여 (＜Ac1 ) 온도
이하의 특정 온도로 가열한 후 한두 번 균열화한 다음, 적당한 속도로
냉각하는 별도의 열처리로
냉각하는 별도의 열처리로 보통 템퍼링은 경도를 감소시키지만,
어떤 경우에는 도리어 경도가 증가할 수도 있습니다.

※ Mechanical properties (기계적성질 : 機械的性質)
Various properties relating to mechanical deformation and
breaking such as tensile strength, yield point or proof strength,
elongation, reduction of area, hardness, impact value,
fatigue strength, creep strength, etc.
인장강도, 항복점, 연신율, 단면 수축률, 경도, 충격치, 피로 강도,
크리프 강도 등 기계적인 변형 및 파괴에 관계되는 성질을 말합니다.
