S355J2+N 으로 표기되는 강재는 유럽규격의 탄소강이고, 최소 항복강도 355 MPa,
-20℃에서 27 Joule minimum의 CVN Impact Test 조건의 강재를 말합니다.

S355J2+N에서 “+N”은 Normalizing (소준 : 燒準 : 불림) 열처리를 한 강재로
강재 내부의 응력을 풀어주는 처리로 강재의 기계적 성질을 높여주는 열처리를 말합니다.

강재의 크기가 커질수록 응력이 발생하기 쉬워, 대형 강재의 경우 Normalizing 열처리를
하는 경우가 많고, S355J2 대형 사각강의 경우도 “+N” 열처리 조건이 따르는 경우가 많습니다.

S355J2 강재의 물성을 아래에 나타냈지만 항복강도, 인장강도는 강재의 두께에 따라 다르고
강재의 두께가 두꺼울수록 강도는 저하되며, 예를 들어 강재 두께 15mm 인 경우는

최소 항복강도 355 MPa, 인장강도 470~630 MPa, 두께 150mm 강재인 경우는
최소 항복강도 315 MPa, 인장강도 450~600 MPa 으로 저하됩니다.

※ Normalizing (불림 :燒準)
Heat treatment consisting of austenitizing followed by air cooling.
The purposes of this operation are to eliminate the influence of pre-working,
to render the crystal grains finder and to improve their mechanical properties.

오스테나이트화 후 공기 중에서 냉각하는 열처리로
노말라이징 열처리의 목적은 강재 생산 앞 공정에서 받은 응력(Stress)을 풀어주고
결정립을 미세화, 표준화시켜, 기계적 성질을 향상시키는 열처리를 말합니다.

※ Charpy V-Notch Impact Test (CVN : 샤르피 충격시험 : 衝擊試驗)
Test to measure the absorbed energy, impact value, percentage
of brittle/ductile fracture, transition temperature, etc. with using
charpy impact testing machine in which test piece is supported by
two supports distant by 40mm so that the notch meets the middle
between supports and is broken by striking with one blow of
pendulum to the face opposite the notch.

샤르피 충격시험기를 사용하여 시험편을 40mm 간격이 있는 두 개의
지지대에 올려 놓고, 또한 노치부를 지지대 사이의 중앙에 놓고
노치부의 뒷면을 해머로 1회만 충격을 주어, 시험편을 파단시키고
흡수에너지, 충격치, 파면율, 천이온도 등을 측정하는 시험을 말합니다.
