탄소강 단조강에서 SF440A처럼 “A”인 경우는 충격시험이 없고,
SF540B처럼 “B”인 경우는 CVN 충격시험이 있습니다.

또한 “A”인 경우는 외경에 따른 기계적 성질 변화의 규정이 없지만 “B”인 경우는
외경이 커짐에 따라 강도가 구분되면서 외경이 커질수록 질량 효과로 강도는 떨어집니다.

※ Mass effect (질량 효과 : 質量效果)
The degree of difference in depth of the quench hardened layer
according to the greatness of mass and sectional dimensions .
When a slight change of mass or sectional dimensions bring about
a great change in the depth of the hardened layer, the mass effect is said to be great.
