S960Q 강재는 최소 항복강도가 무려 960 MPa에 이르는 유럽 규격 강판 재질입니다.
JIS 용접구조용강 SM570, KS SM460B 강판의 최소 항복강도가 460 MPa이고

Posten 80 (Posten 780) 재질의 항복강도 690 MPa와 비교해 보면
S960Q 강재의 강도가 얼마나 높은지 바로 가늠이 됩니다.

S960Q 강재는 QT 열처리를 하는 합금강 강재로 열처리성을 좋게 하는 크롬,
몰리브덴과 바나듐 원소 등을 합금해 강도를 높인 재질이지만 합금량이 높아서

CEV (탄소당량) 0.82 (nominal) 수준으로 상당히 높은 수준입니다…. 실 공급은 이보다 낮음
KS 용접구조용강 강재 두께 50mm 이하인 경우 SM355A Ceq (탄소당량) 0.38, SM420B : 0.40,

SM460B : 0.44 이하와 비교하면, 규정상의 S690Q 탄소당량의 높음을 알 수 있습니다.
S960Q 강재는 -20℃까지 CVN 충격시험이 있는 강재입니다.

하지만 -40℃까지 CVN 충격시험 보증이 필요한 경우 “L”이 붙은 S960QL 강재를 선택하거나
STRENX®960 Plus (SSAB trademark)도 S960QL EN 10025-6 규정을 만족하는 재질입니다.

S960Q 강재는 열간 압연 QT 조건 고항복강도 구조용 강판 규격으로, S960Q/-20℃, S960QL/-40℃,
S960QL1/-60℃로, S960 뒤에 붙는 약호에 따라 CVN Impact 조건이 결정됩니다.

※ 열처리( Heat Treatment : 熱處理)
철강재의 전체 또는 일부에 열 사이클을 적용하여 그 성질 또는 조직을 변화 시키는
일련의 작업으로, 철강재의 화학 조성은 이러한 작업 과정으로 변할 수 있습니다.

Series of operations in the course of which a solid ferrous product is totally or
or partially exposed to thermal cycles to bring about a change in its
properties and/or structure.
The chemical composition of the ferrous product may possibly be
modified during these operations.

※ Quenching(담금질)
Operation which consists of cooling a ferrous products
more rapidly then in still air.
The use of a term specifying the cooling condition is recommended,
for example air-blast quenching, water quenching, step quenching, etc.

철강재를 공기 중에 두는 것보다 더 빠르게 냉각하는 작업으로
퀜칭이란 용어를 사용하며, 공냉(송풍 퀜칭), 수냉, 단계 퀜칭처럼
냉각 조건을 붙여 사용하는 것이 바람직합니다.

※ Tempering (뜨임 열처리)
Heat treatment applied to a ferrous product, generally after quench hardening,
or another heat treatment to bring the properties to the required level, and
consisting of heating to specific temperature (＜Ac1 ) and soaking one or
more time, followed by cooling at an appropriate rate.
Tempering generally leads to a reduction in hardness
but can, in certain cases, cause an increase in hardness.

철강재를 퀜칭 경화 후, 또는 특정 수준의 성질을 얻기 위하여 (＜Ac1 ) 온도
이하의 특정 온도로 가열한 후 한두 번 균열화한 다음, 적당한 속도로
냉각하는 별도의 열처리로
냉각하는 별도의 열처리로 보통 템퍼링은 경도를 감소시키지만,
어떤 경우에는 도리어 경도가 증가할 수도 있습니다.
