STF 6 재질은 KS D 3753 열간 금형용 공구강으로 쓰이는 강재입니다.
JIS G4404 SKT 6 재질과 비교되지만 망간 값에서 차이가 있습니다.

니켈-크롬-몰리브덴 합금강으로 심경화 (through hardening) 재료이고
높은 인성과 압축강도, 변형 저항성 특징입니다.

STF 6 재질은 EN 1.2767/45CrNiMo16 재질과도 비교 가능한 재료로, 높은 표면
품질이 필요한 플라스틱 스탬핑, 성형, 밴딩용 금형으로 사용됩니다.

※ Toughness (인성 : 靭性)
The degree of difficulty in occurring impact breaking
because of the material’s toughness.
질기고 세며, 충격 파괴를 일으키기 어려운지, 어떤지의 정도를 말합니다.
충격에 파괴됨이 없이 충격을 흡수하는 능력으로, 인성이 낮은 강재는
깨지거나 찢어지기 쉽고, 높은 인성 재료는 보통 연성도 높습니다.

Impact absorbing ability of steel without fracture. It is measured by
energy absorbed in an impact bending test. But the area below the
stress-strain curve in tensile testing is also a measure of toughness.
Steel and metal, which is difficult to break has a high toughness.
Steel and metal , which high toughness normally has a high ductility and is
difficult to break with impact energy.
Steels and metals with low toughness are brittle.

※ Hot-work tool steels (열간 공구강 : 熱間工具鋼)
Alloy tool steels for applications in which the surface temperature is generally over 200℃
표면 온도가 200℃ 초과하는 분야에 적용되는 합금공구강을 말합니다.

※ Through-hardening (깊은 경화 : 심경화)
철강재의 표면과 중심부의 경도 차이가 없도록 경화 깊이를 크게 하는 퀜칭 경화를 말합니다.
