KS에서는 내후성에 대해 저합금강 등이
자연환경의 대기 속에서의 부식에 견디는 성질이라고 정의합니다.

Rolled steel with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance로
강판, 형강 (Angle, Channel, T-bar 등으로 생산됩니다.

내후성 강재의 종류는
KS D3529에 모두 14가지가 나타납니다.

그 중 SMA490 AW 강종도 나타나는데
SM은 Steel Marine의 약자로 용접구조용강을 말합니다.

또한 SMA 의 “A” 는 Atmospheric 을 말하며,
490은 최소 인장강도 값을 의미합니다.

490A 에서의 “A”는 충격 시험에 대한
규정이 없는 강재를 말합니다.

여기까지는 용접구조용강 SM490A 와 차이가 없지만
SMA490 AW 에 나타나는 the letter symbol “W” 는

강재에 특별한 도장 처리를 하지 않고
압연 상태 그대로 사용하거나,

녹 안정화 처리를 한 후 사용한다는 의미입니다.
아래의 원소 외에도 내후성 유효 원소인

Mo, Nb, Ti, V, Zr를 첨가해도 좋으며
다만 이들 원소의 합이 0.15% 를 넘으면 안된다.

※ Atmospheric corrosion resistance (내후성 : 耐候性)
A property of low alloy steels or the like for corrosion resistance
in the atmospheric of natural environment.
Including the resistance for deterioration of resin for coated
steel plate and polyvinyl chloride-coated steel plate.
