MIL-S-7947 규정 재질은 ASTM A684 Grade 1095와 SAE 1095 탄소강재에
대응하고 스프링 성능의 Strip과 Sheet 형상을 가지는 제품에 대한 규정으로

AMS 5121, AMS 5122 규정으로 대체됐지만, MIL-S-7947 규격의
도면이나 규정으로 제품을 찾는 경우가 있습니다.

AMS 5122 : Steel Strip (0.90 – 1.04C) (SAE 1095) Hard Temper
AMS 5121 : Steel Sheet and Strip Spring – Annealed

AMS 5122의 탄소량 0.90~1.04C는 탄소량 0.95% 수준의 강재로 SAE 1095에
대응되며, ASTM A684-1095 고탄소 냉간 압연 시트와 스트립과도 대응됩니다.

하지만 MIL-S-7947 강재의 경우는 Aircraft Quality 품질이 요구되는 재료이고
ASTM A684 규정 재료는 냉간 압연 시트와 스트립 제품에 대한 규정입니다.

※ Aircraft Quality Steel (AQ Steel : 항공기강 : 航空機鋼)
AQ Steel is the most commonly specified quality for general aerospace applications.
It is defined in SAE specification AMS 2301 (자분탐상시험 : magnetic particle testing
: 磁粉探傷試驗), which outlines the procedure for determining compliance with
cleanliness requirements by the magnetic particle inspection method.

항공기강은 일반적인 항공기에 사용되는 재료로 SAE 규정의 자분탐상시험 규정인
AMS 2301 적용을 받으며, 이는 강재의 청정성에 관한 시험 규정입니다.

※ Magnetic Particle Testing (자분탐상시험 : 磁分探傷試驗)
철강 재료 등 강자성체를 자화 시켜, 결함부에 생긴 자극 (磁極)에 의한 자분의
부착을 이용하여 결함을 검출하는 비파괴 시험을 말합니다.

Nondestructive test method in which ferromagnetic material such as iron
and steel is magnetized and sticking of magnetic particles to magnetic poles
generated in defect portions in utilized to detect defects.
