Maraging 350, C350 는 극히 높은
인장강도와 항복강도 특성을 가지는 금속입니다.

Maraging 350, C350, 18Ni 합금 금속은
18% 수준의 Nickel 합금과 Cobalt 12% 합금을

금속의 강화 요소 (strengthening agent)로 활용해,
높은 강도와 연성 (ductility), 인성 (toughness)을 가집니다

Trade name, Maraging 350, Vascomax C350® 으로 불리고
AMS 6515, MIL-S-46850 규격입니다.

Maraging 350 의 숫자 “350”는 인장강도 값을 나타내는 숫자로
350ksi × 6.9 = 2415 MPa 수준의 인장강도를 의미합니다.

코발트를 50% 수준 합금한 Stellite — Cobalt base alloy,
코발트를 12% 수준 합금한 Maraging — Iron base alloy 등의 코발트 합금이 있고,

코발트는 내마모성 합금, 고속도 공구강,
인체에 사용하는 생체 재료용 합금,

저열팽창 합금인 Super-Invar, Kovar,
연질 자석, 경질 자석용 합금 원소로도 사용됩니다.

※ Ductility (연성 : 延性)
The property of metals that enables them to be mechanically deformed
when cold, without fracture. In steel, ductility is usually measured by
elongation and reduction area is determined in a tensile test.

금속에 인장력을 줘 소성 변형을 일으켰을 때, 끊어짐이 없이 선 (line)상으로
늘릴 수 있는 성질을 연성이라고 하고, 연성은 인장시험에서
연신율 (Elongation), 단면 수축율 (Reduction area; RA)로 측정합니다.
물질이 파괴되지 않고 유연하게 변할 수 있는 능력입니다.
쉽게 말해 물질이 파괴되지 않고 유연하게 변형할 수 있는 능력입니다.
