항복 강도가 높은 Minimum 420 MPa이며
Charpy Impact Test, 기본 조건입니다.
As-rolled or TMCP,
Normalizing 열처리로 생산되는 강종입니다.
QT (Quenching and Tempering) 열처리 규정은 있지만
QT 열처리 생산은 제한적입니다.
DIN-EN S420 Steel Grade와
항복 강도 기준, 비교 가능한 강종입니다.
KS D3515 SM490 Series로는
SM420A, SM420B, SM420C, SM420D Steel Grade입니다.
※ Tempering (뜨임 열처리)
Heat treatment applied to a ferrous product, generally after quench hardening,
or another heat treatment to bring the properties to the required level, and
consisting of heating to specific temperature (＜Ac1 )and soaking one or
more time, followed by cooling at an appropriate rate.
Tempering generally leads to a reduction in hardness
but can, in certain cases, cause an increase in hardness.
철강재를 퀜칭 경화 후, 또는 특정 수준의 성질을 얻기 위하여 (＜Ac1 ) 온도
이하의 특정 온도로 가열한 후 한두 번 균열화한 다음, 적당한 속도로
냉각하는 별도의 열처리로
보통 템퍼링은 경도를 감소 시키지만, 어떤 경우에는 도리어
경도가 증가할 수도 있습니다.

※ High tensile strength steels (고장력강 : 高張力鋼)
Steel products manufactured for building, bridges, ships, vehicles,
automobiles, other structural use and pressure vessel use which
require weldability, notch toughness, workability, and
tensile strength of 490 N/㎟ min. in general.
In cold rolled steel sheets, those of 340 N/㎟ min. in tensile
strength are called high tensile strength steels.
건축, 교량, 선박, 차량, 기타의 구조물 및 압력 용기용으로서,
보통 인장 강도 50kgf/㎟ (490N/㎟) 이상의 용접성, 노치 인성 및
가공성도 중시해서 제조 된 강재라고 합니다.
자동차용 냉연 강판에서는 인장 강도 35kgf/㎟ (340 N/㎟)
이상을 고장력강이라고 합니다.
