SK65 에서의 숫자 “65”는 nominal 탄소량으로
0.65% 수준의 탄소량으로 강도를 조정하는 탄소강입니다.

탄소량 0.60~1.50% 수준의 탄소강을 탄소 공구강이라고 하고
금속 가공용 공구를 만드는 강재를 말합니다.

SK65 는 탄소 공구강으로는 탄소량이 적은 수준으로
die for press and knife, steel stamp 용도로 사용됩니다.

SK65 (SK7) 재질을 포함해, 탄소 공구강재는
담금질 열처리가 잘 되는 재질로

열간 압연 강재로 열처리 해서 사용하며, 얇은 소재인 경우는
냉간 압연 후, 풀림 (annealed) 열처리를 해서 사용합니다.

※ Carbon Tool Steel (탄소 공구강 : 炭素工具鋼)
Tool steels containing carbon of 0.55% to 1.50%, but special alloy
elements are not added.

0.6~1.5%의 탄소를 함유하고, 특별하게 합금 원소를 첨가하지
않은 공구강을 말합니다.

금속, 또는 비금속의 절삭, 소성 가공용 등의 각종 지그 (jig), 공구로 쓰이는
강철의 총칭. 용도가 넓고 요구 성능이 다방면에 걸치므로 종류가 많습니다.
일반적으로는 화학 성분 및 성능을 고려하여 탄소 공구강, 합금 공구강,
고속도 공구강으로 분류됩니다.
