Inconel ®은 Nickel 을 Base Metal 로 하고,
Chromium 함량이, 다른 합금 원소보다 높게 합금 된 금속입니다.

인코넬의 종류는 21종 이상의 재질이 있으며 Inconel ® 은
trademark of Special Metals Corporation group of Companies 입니다.

Inconel ® Superalloy 재질의 특징으로는
황산, 염산, 인산, 염산에 좋은 내식성과

염화물로 발생되는 SCC (stress corrosion cracking)가 발생하지 않으며
극히 높은 저온과 고온에서 기계적 성질이 우수합니다.

또한 고온에서의 높은 내산화성 (resistance to elevated temperature),
입계 부식, 틈 부식, 점식 (pitting corrosion)에 대해 뛰어난 내식성 금속입니다.

Inconel ® 의 이와 같은 성질은 일반적인 금속이나
합금강으로는 비교할 수 없는 뛰어난 성질로,

핵 반응기 (nuclear reactors), 우주 항공용 가스 터빈, 로켓의 모터와 엔진
석유 정제 장치와 화학 장치, 염화물이 발생되는 공해 방지 시설에 적용됩니다.

Inconel ® 이라는 상표를 사용하는 주요 금속 재질로는
Alloys C-276, Alloy 600, Alloy 601, Alloy 625, Alloy 718 등이 있습니다.

※ 입계 부식 (Intergranular corrosion)
금속의 결정 입계(Grain boundary) 또는 근처에서 발생하는 부식
Corrosion in or adjacent to the grain boundaries of the metal.

※ Pitting corrosion (공식 : 孔蝕)
Localized corrosion resulting in pits, i.e
cavities extending from the surface into the metal
금속 표면으로부터 내부까지 확장된 구멍을 유발 시키는 국부 부식.

※ Crevice corrosion (틈새 부식)
금속 표면과 다른 금속 (금속 또는 비금속) 사이에 형성된 작은 구멍이나
틈의 주변 가까이 또는 내부에서 발생하는 국부 부식.

Local corrosion in connecting with crevices occurring in or immediately
adjacent to the crevice area, which has developed between the metal
surface and another surface (metal or nonmetal)
