STS631 재질은 석출 경화형 (precipitation hardening) 고강도 스텐레스입니다.
냉간 압연만으로도 높은 인장강도 강재로 스프링 강재는

KS D 3534 — Cold Rolled Stainless Strip for Spring 규정안에
STS631-CSP 가 있고, Temper (조질 기호) 4가지 중 3/4H 가 있습니다.

KS D 3534 스프링 스테인레스 재질은 STS301-CSP, STS304-CSP, STS631-CSP,
STS420J2-CSP, 4종류가 있고, 냉간 압연 또는 고용화 열처리 후 인장강도에서

STS631-CSP 강도가 가장 높으며, 더 높은 강도가 필요한 경우
석출 경화 열처리 하면 Temper 3/4H, 인장강도 1420 MPa (205 ksi) 이상이 됩니다.

석출 경화 열처리는 (열처리 기호 CH) 475±10℃ 에서 1시간 유지 후 공냉입니다.
STS631-CSP 재질은 오스테나이트계 STS304-CSP 대비, 내식성은 떨어집니다.

STS631-CSP 스프링용 박판은 Solution Treatment 에서는 비자성이지만,
Precipitation Hardening 조건에서는 자성 (magnetic)입니다

부여하는 공정으로 (예를 들어 기계적 처리 및/또는 열처리) 후의
제품의 상태를 말합니다.

※ Precipitation Hardening Steels (석출 경화 : 析出硬化)
Steels with the property of being hardened by a method wherein
a small amount of elements such as aluminium, copper, etc.
is added and compounds of those elements or the like are
precipitated by heat treatment.

알루미늄, 구리 등의 원소를 소량 첨가하고, 열처리에 의해
이들 원소 화합물을 석출 시켜 경화 하는 (강도 향상) 성질을 지니게 한 강.
