SUH3 JIS G 4311 재질은, 내열강 (內熱鋼 : Heat Resisting Steel) 입니다.
마르텐자이트계 강재로 열처리에 의해 강도가 높일 수 있는 재질로

QT 열처리시에 100 ksi (690 MPa) 이상의 고항복강도 강재입니다.
JIS G 4311 SUH3 강재는 KS D 3731 STR3 강재와 내용이 같고

대응 가능한 EN 규격 X40CrSiMo10-2, 1.4731 내열강은 700℃ 수준에서
인장강도 — 130 MPa, 항복강도 — 100 MPa 규정이 있는 강재와 비교됩니다.

SUH3 강재는 내열성, 내크리프 강재로 높은 하중이 작용하는 항공기와
자동차 엔진 배기 밸브, 흡입 밸브와 같은 내연기관 용도로 쓰입니다.

SUH3 강재는 Annealed (+A), 열간 강재의 표면을 깍은 Bright Bar (마봉강 : 摩棒鋼),
Peeling Machining (+PM) 조건 공급인 경우와 QT 열처리 조건으로 나뉩니다.

Property of materials that are used at above 550℃ (for steel : wustite point)
due to their excellent resistance to the effects of hot gases and products of
combustion as well as their resistance to the influence of molten salts and
molten metals but also showing good mechanical properties during short
and long-time stressing.

내열성은 550℃ 를 넘는 연소 가스의 영향에 저항성 성질 뿐 아니라 용융염,
용융 금속에도, 짧은 시간부터 오랜 기간 응력에 대한 영향에서, 좋은 기계적
성질과 내산화 내부식 성질입니다.
대개의 금속은 540~550℃ 수준을 넘는 온도 노출되면 미세 구조의 변화로
심한 연성 저하와 충격 강도의 저하가 있습니다.

※ Creep resistance (내크리프성)
a property of resistance against a phenomenon in which
strain in the lapse of time under a fixed stress at a high
temperature called high temperature creep.

고온의 일정한 압력을 받는 환경에서 물질의 변형이
시간이 경과함에 따라 증가하는 현상을 고온 크립이라고 하고
이에 견디는 성질을 말합니다.
