Type 304 재질은 동서양에서 가장 많이 쓰이는 스텐레스입니다.
오스테나이트계 스텐레스라서 Annealed 조건에서는 자성이 없지만

냉간 가공 후 약간의 자성을 띄는 특징이 있으며, 좋은 내식성이고, 탄소강재
ASTM A36 보다 규정상으로는 최저 항복강도는 낮지만, 최저 인장강도가 높습니다.

18% 크롬과, 8% 니켈 합금으로 18-8 이라고, 주요 합금량으로 부르는 경우도 있습니다.
ASTM A276 재료인 경우 304A, 304B 라고 나타나는 경우는 있고

ASTM A479 재료인 경우 304A 라고 나타나는 경우 “A”, “B” 구분은 아래에 나타냈고
ASTM 규격 번호에 따른 Finish 약호, JIS, KS Finish 약호 차이가 있음에 유의해야 합니다.

※ A276 Condition
Condition A : Annealed (어닐링 열처리)
Condition B : Relatively severe cold work (비교적 심한 냉간 가공 경화)
Condition H : Hardened and tempered at a relatively low temperature (비교적 저온 경화 열처리)
Condition T : Hardened and tempered at a relatively high temperature (비교적 고온 경화 열처리)
Condition S : Strain Hardened – Relatively light cold work (비교적 가벼운 냉간 가공 경화)

※ Cold Finish (냉간 마무리)
The term “Cold Finish” is an umbrella definition for any metal
that has had some sort of surface treatment.
EX) Cold drawn is cold finish surface.
Centerless Ground, Smooth Turned, and Rough Turned — These are all “Cold Finish”

※ Strain hardening (가공 경화 : 加工硬化)
Modification of a metal structure by cold working, resulting in an increase in strength
and hardness, generally with some loss of ductility.

냉간 가공에 의한 금속 조직의 변화로 강도와 경도의 증가를 유발하며
일반적으로 연성이 감소되는 현상이 있습니다.

※ Cold working (냉간 가공)
Plastic deformation of a metal or alloy at a temperature
such that strain hardening occurs.

가공 경화가 발생하는 온도에서의 금속 또는 합금의 소성 변형을 말합니다.
