Grade 17-4 재질은 Solution Annealed 조건과 (Condition A)
석출 경화 열처리 (Condition age-hardening 또는 precipitation : PH) 로

높은 강도를 가지는 열간 또는 냉간 생산 스텐레스 환봉과 형강 재질입니다.
A564-630, Grade 17-4, 17-4PH 라고도 불리고, A484 – 공차, F899 – 의료용 재질입니다.

Grade 17-4 Condition A 외, 석출 경화 열처리 하면 항복강도 520~1170 MPa
minimum 재료로 9가지 Condition 에 따라 기계적 성질을 달리할 수 있는 재질입니다.

내식성에서는 오스테나이트 304, 316 보다는 못하지만, 오스테나이트계 스텐레스가
따라 오기 어려운 높은 강도 재료로, 기어, 축, 엔진 부품, 터빈 부품으로 사용됩니다.

Grade 17-4 재질은 크롬 17%, 니켈 4% 수준의 합금량에 기인한 재질 별명이고
석출 경화성 원소로 Copper 3% 수준을 합금 했고, Type 630 으로도 불립니다.

Note : It consists of heating to and socking at one or more
specified temperature, followed by appropriate cooling.

철강재가 필요한 성질을 가지도록 용체화 처리한 뒤에 적용하는 열처리.
이 처리는 가열한 뒤 정해진 하나 또는 두 온도에서 일정 시간 유지하는
균열화 처리 후 적절하게 냉각하는 공정으로 이루어집니다.

※ Solution annealing or “carbide solution annealing” or
“quench annealing” (용체화 어닐링 (풀림)
High temperature followed by cooling sufficiently rapidly to preserve
a homogeneous austenitic structure on return to ambient temperature.

오스테나이트 강을 고온으로 (1900~2050℉ : 1038~1121℃) 가열한 후
빠르게 냉각함으로서 상온에서도 오스테나이트 조직이 되도록 하는
열처리를 말합니다.
상온 또는 상온에 가까운 온도에서 용질 원자의 확산이 일어나게 함으로
철강재의 성질을 개선하는 열처리를 말합니다.
