AMS-S-7108 규정은 Mn-Si-Ni 합금강재로 Bars and Forgings
항공기강 (aircraft quality)으로 열처리시 인장강도 최소 1518 MPa 강재입니다.

AMS-S-7108 강재는 높은 강도와 파괴 인성, 좋은 연성 강재로
Aircraft landing gear, flap tracks and other structural applications 용도입니다.

AMS-S-7108 강재는 AMS 2301 규정인, 강의 청정성 (cleanliness)을 확보하기 위한
항공기강의 비파괴 시험인,  자분 탐상 (magnetic particle) 시험이 있습니다.

AMS-S-7108 강재는 UNS K32550, Boeing DMS-1841
GE-S-400 S-1000 규정과 대응 가능한 저합금강재입니다.

※ Toughness (인성 : 靭性)
The degree of difficulty in occurring impact breaking
because of the material’s toughness .
질기고 세며, 충격 파괴를 일으키기 어려운지, 어떤지의 정도.

※ Ductility (연성 : 延性)
The property of metals that enables them to be mechanically deformed
when cold, without fracture. In steel, ductility is usually measured by
elongation and reduction area is determined in a tensile test.

금속에 인장력을 줘 소성 변형을 일으켰을 때, 끊어짐이 없이 선 (line)상으로
늘릴 수 있는 성질을 연성이라고 하고, 연성은 인장시험에서
연신율 (Elongation), 단면 수축율 (Reduction area; RA)로 측정합니다.
물질이 파괴되지 않고 유연하게 변할 수 있는 능력입니다.
쉽게 말해 물질이 파괴되지 않고 유연하게 변형할 수 있는 능력입니다.

※ Heat Treatment (열처리)
Normalizing Temperature : 940℃ (1725℉), 1h, air cool
Austenitizing Temperature (Hardening Temperature) : 871℃(1600℉), 1h, oil quench
Tempering Temperature : 550℉ (288℃) : 2h, air cool

※ Special Aircraft Quality Steel (특수 항공기강 : 特殊 航空機鋼)
SAQ Steel level of quality places minimum values on ductility in the transverse direction.
It is also known as “High Transverse Quality” as the steel is evaluated by the number of
tension tests normal to the direction of rolling (transverse) performed to obtain a
comprehensive sampling of a heat of steel.
