ASTM A479-347 재질과 대응되고, Premium Aircraft Quality 품질의

소모 전극 용해 방법으로 제조하는 환봉, Wire, 단조재, 튜브, 링 제품 규정입니다.
AMS 5654 합금은 고온 환경과 용접용 구조물 용도로 쓰이는 재질입니다.

탄소가 크롬과 크롬 탄화물을 생성 해 예민화에 의한 용접 부위 입계 부식 발생하는 것을
컬럼븀 또는 니오븀 원소 합금이 이를 억제하는, 탄화물 안정화 역할을 합니다.

강도 면에서는 Type 304, 316 오스테나이트 재질과 같지만 고온과 입계 부식, 용접 부식에
뛰어나고, ring collectors, nuclear industry, oil refineries, reactor 부품 용도입니다.

※ 입계부식 (Intergranular corrosion)
금속의 결정 입계 (Grain boundary) 또는 근처에서 발생하는 부식
Corrosion in or adjacent to the grain boundaries of the metal.

※ Sensitization (예민화 : 銳敏化)
Increase in the sensitivity of stainless steels to intergranular corrosion
due to the precipitation of carbides at the grain boundaries.
스테인레스 강에서 결정립계에 탄화물이 석출 됨으로서
입계 부식에 대한 민감도가 증가하는 현상을 말합니다.

Premium Aircraft Quality Steel is the ultimate quality that can currently be obtained in
production quantities and is usually applied to the most critical parts and components.
Steel conformed to this quality level is produced by the consumable electrode vacuum
arc remelting technique. AMS 2300 defines this quality and outlines testing requirements
Steels described herein which meet this quality are designated by the letters VAR
(Vacuum Arc Remelts) or CEVM (Consumable Electrode Vacuum Melted)
