ASTM A1011 규정은 열간 압연 탄소 강판과 구조용강, 저합금 고장력강,
성형성 증강 고장력 저합금강이면서, 쉬트, 스트립 제품에 대한 규정으로

강재 두께 t≤6 mm 두께 강판으로, 이전의 규격 ASTM A569 를 대체합니다.
ASTM A1011 은 t≤6 mm (박판), ASTM A1018 — 6＜t≤25 mm (1 inch : 후판) 로

두께 차이로 ASTM 규정이 다르니, 두께를 보면 A1011, A1018 구분 가능합니다.
ASTM 1011 약자 용어로는 CS, DS, SS, HSLAS-F, UHS (UHSS) 가 있고

CS – Commercial Steel, DS – Drawing Steel, SS – Structural Steel,
HSLAS-F – High Strength Low-Alloy Steel with Improved Formability,

UHSS – Ultra High Strength Steel 로 각각, 강도에 따라 구분됩니다.
ASTM A1011 CS Type 은 Type A, Type B, C, D 4 종류가 있고

이들 각각은 화학 원소에 따라 구분되고,
기계적 성질 차이는 동일하게 나타나는 규정입니다.

※ Formability (성형성 : 成形性)
The degree of capability for being formed into a
required shape without generating cracks
균열을 일으키는 일 없이 필요한 형상으로 성형할 수 있는 정도.

※ 강대 (鋼帶 : Steel strip in coil, steel sheet in coil, steel plate in coil)
Hot rolled or cold rolled flat steel products which are coiled up.
평평하게 열간 압연 또는 냉간 압연 된 강철로 코일상으로 감긴 강재.

※ 후판 (steel plates, 후판 : 厚板)
Steel plates manufactured by hot rolling.
In the classification for statistical purpose, thickness is equal to or
greater than 3.0 mm. Those of equal to or greater than 3.0 mm and
less than 6.0 mm may be called medium gauge plate and those of equal
to or greater than 6.0 mm in thickness may be called heavy steel plate.
In the classification of ISO 6929, in the classification for statistical purpose,
it is recommended to classify steel plates whose thickness is equal to or
greater than 3 mm, and the cold rolled steel plate shall be included.

열간 압연으로 제조된 강판으로, 보통 두께 3 mm 이상의 것.
특히 3.0 mm 이상, 6.0 mm 미만의 것을 중판, 6.0 mm 이상의 것을
후판이라고 하는 수도 있습니다.
