A514 Grade B 강재는 Plate 합금강판 규격이며, QT 열처리 강재로
고항복강도이고, 용접에 적합한 구조용 (structural) 32mm 최대 두께 입니다.

900℃ 이상에서 담금질, 620℃ 이상에서 Tempering 열처리로 강도를 높이며
강도 향상 원소로, 니켈, 크롬, 몰리브덴, 보론, 바나듐을 합금한 인성이 좋은 강판입니다.

A514 Grade B 는, 항복강도 100 ksi (690 MPa) minimum 강재이며
A514 8 가지 Grade 모두 100 ksi minimum 의 특징이 있는 강판 규격입니다.

KS와 JIS의 용접구조용강 최고 항복강도 강재인 KS — SM460B, JIS — SM570 TMCP
강재의 항복강도 460 MPa 와 비교하면 690 MPa — A514 Grade B 의 강도가 가늠 됩니다.

높은 응력이 작용하는 크레임 붐, 대형 운송 차량인 트레일러, 건설용 장비,
육상 운송 차량의 프레임, 용접 구조용 교량용 재료로 사용됩니다.
