MIL-A-12560 (MIL-DTL-12560) 강재는 전투 차량 구조물용 장갑 판재로
균질 압연강판 (RHA : Rolled Homogeneous Armour)을 말하며

열간 압연 공정으로 생산과정에 품질을 균질하게 제조하고, 균질 압연 강판 대비
다른 전투용 강판의 관통 수치 또는 방어력을 비교하는 기준 강판이 되기도 합니다.

MIL-A-12560 강판은 다른 비교되는 강판인 MIL-A-46100
(고속 발사체 침입을 막는) 강판 대비, 충격 흡수 에너지에서 좋은 강판입니다.

Typical HBN 경도 값 360, 항복강도 1090 MPa, 인장강도 1200 MPa
최소 연신율 10%의 높은 기계적 성질을 가지며, Ni-Cr-Mo 합금으로

QT 열처리성이 높은 합금강이며, 니켈, 크롬, 몰리브덴 원소 이외에도
비금속 개재물인 P, S를 극저 (極低)로 하고, V, Nb, Ti, Si, Al 원소가 합금됩니다.

※ Impact Test (충격시험 : 衝擊試驗)
Test of evaluating toughness or brittleness of materials to examine
the magnitude of absorbed energy, fracture appearance, deformation
behavior, crack propagation behavior, etc. in breaking test piece by
applying impact load.
According to the manners to apply impact load, there are various
test methods such as impact tensile, impact compression, impact
bending, impact torsion, etc.
Further, according to kinds of testing machine to be used, they
are also divided into charpy impact test, I zod impact test, etc.

재료의 인성 또는 취성을 조사하기 위해, 시험편에 충격 하중을 가하여
파단시키고, 소요된 에너지의 대소, 파면의 양산, 변형 거동, 균열의
진전 거동 등에 따라 평가를 하는 시험.

충격하중 방법에 따라 충격 인장, 충격 압축, 충격 비틀림 시험 등이 있고
사용되는 시험기의 종류에 따라, 샤르피 충격시험, 아이조드
충격시험으로 구분됩니다.

※ Inclusions (개재물 : 介在物)
Non metallic particles like oxides, sulfides, and silicates in the steel matrix.
To decrease the negative effect of inclusions on mechanical properties,
special cleaning methods are used during the melting process in
steel production.

산화물, 황화물, 규산염 등의 아주 작은 입자들이 금속 조직 내 있는 것을 말하고
이들은 기계적 성질에 부정적인 영향을 감소 시키려고 강의 제조과정에서
제거 시킵니다.
