S38MS1V, 강재는 비조질강입니다.
비조질로 제조하면서도, 고장력강을 추구했습니다.

조질강은 QT 열처리 강재를 말합니다. 비조질강은
QT 열처리 강재가 아니면서 고장력강이라는 뜻입니다.

강(steel)은 열처리에 의해 성질이 크게 변하고
열처리는 열과 냉각 과정의 온도 조정으로

강의 성질을 개선합니다.
또한 강 (steel)은 탄소량에 의해 성질이 변하고

합금 원소에 의해서도 성질이 달라집니다.
비조질강은 이 중에서도 열과 냉각에 의한 성질 변화보다는

합금 원소의 영향 상태에서  제조 과정 그대로 (as rolled)이거나
강 (steel)이 받은 스트레스 (응력)을 해소하는 주는 수준에서,

고장력 성질을 발휘케 한 강재입니다.
S38MS1V, QT 열처리 강재가 아닌

As roll or Normalizing 강재이고, S38MS1V, 재질은
대부분 As roll, 각강 (Square bar)으로 공급됩니다.

S38MS1V, 재질은 자동차용
부품으로 쓰이는 경우가 많으며

열간 가공성, 피삭성, 고강도가
요구되는 커넥팅 로드 등으로 사용됩니다.

※ As rolled or normalizing high tensile strength steel
(비조질 고장력강 : 非調質高張力鋼)
Steel products being given the properties of high
tensile strength steels in as rolled or normalized state.

압연한 그대로, 또는 노말라이징 (풀림, 소준) 상태에서
고장력강으로서의 성질을 지닌 강재.

※ Quenched and tempered high tensile strength steels
(조질고장력강 : 調質高張力鋼)
Steel products quenched and tempered in order to obtain
the properties which high tensile strength steels should have.

담금질과 뜨임(퀜칭과 템퍼링) 열처리를 함으로,
고장력강으로서의 성질을 지니도록 한 강재.

※ Normalizing (불림 :燒準)
Heat treatment consisting of austenitizing followed by air cooling.
The purposes of this operation are to eliminate the influence of pre-working,
to render the crystal grains finder and to improve their mechanical properties.

오스테나이트화 후 공기 중에서 냉각하는 열처리로
노말라이징 열처리의 목적은 강재 생산 앞 공정에서
받은 응력 (Stress)를 풀어주고 결정립을 미세화,
표준화 시켜, 기계적 성질을 향상 시키는 열처리를 말합니다.

※ Quenching (담금질)
Operation which consists of cooling a ferrous products
more rapidly then in still air.
The use of a term specifying the cooling condition is recommended,
for example air-blast quenching, water  quenching, step quenching, etc.

철강재를 공기 중에 두는 것보다 더 빠르게 냉각하는 작업으로
퀜칭이란 용어를 사용하며, 공냉(송풍 퀜칭), 수냉, 단계 퀜칭처럼
냉각 조건을 붙여 사용하는 것이 바람직합니다.
