AMS 5880 재질은, 경화 가능한 (Hardenable) — HRC 58 수준
베어링으로 사용하는 마르텐자이트계 스텐레스 재질 규정입니다.

AMS 5880 은, Bars, Wire and Forgings 제품에 대한 규정이고
Bar (Flat, Hexagon, Round, Square), Wire, Billet, Rod 제품 형태입니다.

QT 열처리 가능한 제품으로 열간 압연 후 Annealed 조건에서는
Brinell Hardness 269 max. 수준이지만, QT 열처리시에는

HRC 58 수준으로 스텐레스로는 최고 수준의 경도입니다.
AMS 5880 스텐은 높은 경도, 내식성, 우수한 내마모성으로

Bearings, bearing components, valve seats, guide collars,
molds for manufacturing plastic materials 용도로 사용됩니다.

Diameter 1.0 mm 이하에서는 Spool, 그 이상은 Bar, Rod 형태이고
경우에 따라 ESR (electro-slag remelt)and drawn, annealed, polished 입니다.

ASTM A484, ASTM A493, ASTM A580, ASTM A756,

AMS 5618, AMS 5630, QQ-S-763, EN 1.4125, X105CrMo17

※ Polishing (광내기 연마)
Before the next step, the surface should be highly polished. In every step
different polishing equipment should be used, Devices with high rotation
should be prefered

※ Drawing (인발)
The process of pulling material through a die to reduce the size,
change the cross sectional shape, or to harden the material.

※ ESR (Electro Slag Remelting : 일렉트로 슬래그 재용해)
After casting, the ingot is remelted from bottom to top by electric energy,
During this process, the melted steel falls through slags, which collects
almost all of the non-metallic inclusions
A new ingot solidifies from bottom to top and there is very little segregation
from case to core.
The fatigue resistance and in particular the toughness increase.
Even through ESR increases material costs, it can still be economical due to
the increase in the tool’s performance.
Metal injection molds and extrusion dies often need ESR steel grades.
